Hi All
Well, the new Little League year is about to START! (yes it’s that time!). Oct 1 is the start of the Little League International new year… Happy New Year!
It is recommended that all local League Boards be elected and seated in September to start work for the new year.
Some leagues even start their spring registrations as EARLY AS NOV 1! Can you imagine that? About the time we start hunkering down for winter, some leagues in the US are gearing up for spring!?
At the District level we have a couple of new things in the works…
- We are still working on a North Spokane League – check out our ad in the Exchange the next couple of weeks. We will also be supporting that with Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram messaging
along with Google Ads to see if we can get it fired up this year. We have had many individuals come forth wanting to coach, but none want to do the hard work of running a League and being on a Board. Know anyone who lives in North Spokane and wants to help
fire it up? Send them our way.
- The Annual Winter Meeting is coming up at the end of October (last Saturday). ALL BOARD MEMBERS FROM ALL LEAGUES ARE INVITED. All Presidents must attend. We will publish the locations
shortly. I’d like to move it around so that Stacy and West Plains LL are not the ones always doing the heavy lifting…
- The District FINALLY has a new website… it’s in it’s “formative” stages still. We need LOTS of content. We’ll be scraping your websites for content and information. BUT please send
me the following info:
- Contact information for the League President (if different than the Data Center)
- Relevant calendar dates (board meetings, signups, try outs, any special games, training etc… I’ll make sure they all get on there)
- Fundraising needs (I’m creating a grant research page for $$)
- Etc…
- I’ll be putting important state level stuff on there too – so watch the website
- Training dates are going on there (starting with Umpire Training)
- Tournament information will be on there
- District 13 Merch… you should check out the Logo we have for “nice” stuff and the cool logo for umpire gear! (Good Job Randy!)

I’m excited about the upcoming year. The new rule changes for BOUNDARIES has me thinking of LOTS of possibilities…. We’ll discuss more at the winter meeting at the end of October…
