I just wanted to confirm that we are booked for the 16th for binder signing at Fieldhouse Pizza and Pub in Liberty Lake.  We have their group room from 6pm on.  Showing up a bit early for a bite to eat or drink is for sure welcome.  The room we have is in the back, just beyond the aracde games.

I am still waiting to get conrifmation on the 20th for the managers/presidents meeting.

Have a great weekend all.

Hi All,

Here are the preparation notes for the District Tournament coming up in about 3 weeks. We do not have the game schedule just yet, but will have that and the brackets soon.

  1. Book review and affidavit signing will be at the Fieldhouse  in Liberty Lake on Monday June 16, at 6:00  PM – ALL team books should be prepared by then and ready for review and signature. The Fieldhouse is a restaurant just off the freeway in Liberty Lake, kind of a sports bar/ pizza place.
  2. Friday June 20 we will have our Manager’s meeting at the Trailhead Golf Course Conference room in Liberty Lake at 6:00 PM  - this is to review any tournament specific items. ALL MANAGERS OF ALL TEAMS are required to attend! YOU MAY have one of your assistant coaches there as a proxy, but ANY TEAM failing to have representation at the manager’s meeting will forfeit BOTH their choice of home or away and the dugout they wish to occupy. You may bring as many coaches with you as you like representing your tournament team, BUT at least ONE must attend. (The more the merrier and the better informed the coaching staff is). The manager’s meeting is incredibly important to the success of the tournament. It is where will discuss the attached Tournament Prep document and outline any special rules, changes, or instructions for the tournament. This meeting will be about an hour.
  3. There will be president’s meeting immediately after the Manager’s meeting at the Golf Course. It also will last about an hour. This is also a requirement for PRESIDENTS to attend.
  4. All managers and coaches of a team must wear the same uniform. Whether that is a T-shirt with your team’s name on it and Khaki shorts, or a formal jersey and long pants, all coaches and managers must be dressed the same and in some type of “uniform” that identifies them with the team. A simple T-Shirt with a team logo on it is fine… just look “professional” and part of the team in your appearance. You cannot wear the same jersey as your players. It can be a derivative in design but not identical. This will help keep visual confusion down for the players (they may see you standing in the third base box and decide not to take third because the players think the coach is a player on third). You can and should wear the same cap as your players. It’s not a requirement, but looks nice.
  5. All coaches, managers, and team parents assisting the team must have completed their Abuse Awareness Training. That can be found here: https://www.littleleague.org/university/articles/abuse-awareness-training-course/ - each year every volunteer at any level with any involvement with the league must complete this course. The certificate for same will need to be in the team book for all Manager’s and Coaches.
  6. All Managers and coaches must complete the Diamond Leader Training. That can be found here: https://www.littleleague.org/diamondleader/
  7. The tournament is tentatively scheduled to start on Saturday the 20th – MOST LIKELY (but not nailed down in concrete) at 9:00 AM with teams showing up to warm up before then. We will go over rules about how to address the fields, tournament processes and such the night before at the manager’s meeting.
  8. PJ has put together a pretty good program for us and we GREATLY appreciate him and his Board’s work in getting the tournament together. The city he says is cooperating well with getting the fields in shape and other necessities to keep the tournament rolling. He says they’ll have some decent food trucks there which is something I personally am looking forward to! The fields look in decent shape too. We should be able to play all our games there… even the softball ones.
  9. See the table below. This is what we have for teams in attendance to the tournament. IF this is NOT correct, please let me know by Monday Jun 2 at Noon.
  10. Make sure you have your team chartered for tournament play in the data center and be ready to bring your books to the Fieldhouse! Thanks for all your hard work!
