Hi JP,
This email is a friendly reminder that your position as District Administrator of Washington District 13 is up for election this year. The West Region staff will be running all of the District Administrator elections, but please feel free to send any election related questions directly to me. Your League Presidents will also be receiving a reminder email shortly about the election that is coming up.
The nomination window will open on Wednesday, April 5th and close on Friday, April 14th. League Presidents will receive an email with a link to submit as many nominations as they would like. The individuals that are nominated in this form will receive a notification email that lets that person know they have been nominated for the District Administrator position. The individual is given the ability to accept or decline the nomination. Only League Presidents are able to submit nominations, not the current District Administrator.
If a nominee is willing to accept, they will also be emailed a link to create their bio for League Presidents to view when submitting their vote. Nominees will have until April 28th to complete their bio. We will be working with your State Coordinator to help schedule virtual or in person meetings for nominees to speak in front of League Presidents shall they choose to do so before the voting window opens. If you are the State Coordinator of your respective state, expect to receive an email/call from the West Region Staff so we can find someone else to coordinate your district.
The voting ballots will go live on Wednesday, May 3rd and will close on Friday, May 12th. Each League President will receive an email with a link to submit their vote. League Presidents will only have 1 vote. Voting status will remain confidential throughout this process.
If there is only 1 candidate on your ballot, then the candidate must receive the majority number of votes to be elected. For example, if a district has 9 leagues, the solo nominee must receive at least 5 votes to be elected. For elections that only have 1 candidate, League Presidents will have the option to vote “yes” or “no” for the solo candidate.
If there are multiple candidates on your ballot, the candidate with the highest number of votes will be elected.
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!
