Dear District and League Volunteers, By now, you have likely seen the update regarding the 2021 Little League® International Tournament. While we know that all Little Leaguers® dream of playing in a World Series event, those dreams start at your local league with our District-level tournaments. As we start getting ready for that tournament season, we wanted to share some updates to support you and your fellow volunteers. · If you have not read the full news release regarding the update to the Little League Region and World Series Tournaments, we encourage you to do so, to understand our full plans for holding those levels at our Little League Baseball and Little League Softball divisions. Intermediate (50/70) Baseball, Junior League Baseball, Junior League Softball, Senior League Baseball, and Senior League Softball divisions will conclude at the state level, similar to our 8- to 10-Year-Old and 9- to 11-Year-Old divisions of tournament play. · We have also developed a series of Frequently Asked Questions on General Topics, Little League Baseball and Softball Tournament Specifics, and Local League Support. Please review these resources for additional guidance. · Local leagues will be able to enroll their tournament teams starting Monday, May 10, and utilize the online Affidavit System through the Data Center starting Saturday, May 15, as in previous years. · The only divisions that will require the tournament entry fee of $200 are the Little League Baseball and Little League Softball. As always, this amount will be directed to a restricted fund to help offset tournament mileage reimbursement, as well as travel expenses for those teams who have the opportunity to compete at the World Series events. · The other divisions of tournament (8- to 10-Year-Old, 9- to 11-Year-Old, Intermediate Division Baseball, Junior League Baseball, Junior League Softball, Senior League Baseball, and Senior League Softball) that will be concluding at the state level will not be assessed with the tournament entry fee. As there is no tournament entry fee for these divisions of play, teams participating at these divisions are not eligible for tournament mileage reimbursement. · Leagues participating in the Little League International Tournament at all levels will have the support of the Regional offices and Little League International Tournament Committee for protests and tournament issues, as needed. · Please make sure to review the updates to the tournament rules and regulations for this year. · Through the Data Center, please confirm your team information is up-to-date. · Be certain your balances, especially for your liability insurance should you be enrolled, are paid in full. If your league is currently active and conducting Little League games, practices, fundraisers, and/or other league activities, it is imperative that your league pay the outstanding insurance premiums to place the Liability Insurance that your league applied for in effect for your program. As tournament enrollment will open on May 10, this email is to notify you that your league may experience restrictions with tournament eligibility and be unable to enroll until the league’s insurance is paid and in effect. Leagues with an outstanding balance will be contacted via email on Friday, May 7. As always, our staff is here to support you throughout this tournament season.
