We have an exciting opportunity for you or someone you know who offers programs to get young people outside.

The Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) is accepting Letters of Intent from organizations for the state grant program, No Child Left Inside (NCLI), which provides funding to support quality opportunities for underserved youth to learn, play, and experience the outdoors. RCO manages NCLI on behalf of the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission. 

RCO will use the information to inform the Governor’s Office, the Legislature, and others about the need in advance of budget discussions and funding decisions. Although the Letter of Intent will not be scored, providing clear and succinct responses will contribute to the future of the grant program.

The full application round will open early in 2027. Please visit the NCLI web page for details about eligibility before submitting a Letter of Intent.

Letters of Intent are due by 11:59 P.M. July 30, 2026.

RCO staff will host a workshop about the Letter of Intent that will include information about the funding program, preliminary schedule for the 2027 grant cycle, and much more. The first thirty minutes will be presentation and the second thirty minutes will be available for questions.

The workshop will be July 1, 2026, at 1 p.m. (PST).
