Districts, Dues, Delightful
Hi All, Districts are right around the corner! I am always delighted when this time of year rolls around. We are splitting Districts this year to try to accommodate Hoop Fest. we'll start before Hoopfest, take a break, then play the balance of the tournament. We will also make adjustments for the softball portion of the tournament. Here are some things we need to make sure are in place for qualification to play Districts: 1. You need to have your District Teams enrolled in the Data Center. 2. Any Waivers need to be already in place (June 1 was the deadline) - I didn't receive any waiver requests, so I am guessing there are not any. 3. All managers AND coaches that will be leading the teams MUST HAVE their Diamond Leader training certificate IN the binder 4. All managers and coaches need to have completed the training on detecting and dealing with Child Abuse. USA Baseball has an approved course. You can also access it through Blue Sombrero / Sports Connect. This certificate also needs to be in the binder. 5. You must have your District Assessments paid before tournament time. (bringing it to the meeting on Monday is a good idea if you haven't paid yours yet) 6. Book Signing meeting Monday June 17th at 7pm at No Li Brew Pub 7. We will have a Manager's meeting the day of the tournament, ALL managers are required to attend the manager's meeting. OR one of the coaches of the team.the President does not count. (Keep in mind Presidents cannot manage a District team without a waiver, and none have been sent in. yet). Expect an hour to an hour and a half. 8. We will have a President's Meeting just before the manager's meeting. expect it to take about 45 minutes. I have an update on the North Spokane League, We'll discuss some tournament rules and decorum, and other things.rule changes for boundaries will be a topic. I am going to request permission to play a double header for Softball (and I am glad we are adding a softball component to our District Tournament!) - if this is the case - we need both presidents to request it in writing to me ASAP. thanks - Stacy has done a good job as usual getting the details of the tournament underway.I will head out to Cheney next week to take a look at the fields for the safety review - pre-tournament, and if possible meet with Mark about the Blue-Crew for the tournament. He did a great job last year, and the umpiring was pretty dang good. I look forward to seeing your teams play . Regards JP DA WA 13
