All, I was sick on Monday and was trying to get caught up on things yesterday, and did finally get a minute to talk about the final Drafting decision for District 13 with Western. They have been apprised of everyone's draft thoughts. and have rendered their position which I will echo here: 1. Majors and above must tryout AND draft. by one of the three approved methods sanctioned by Little League. If you have questions, please contact me and I have materials and answers. 2. NO intact travel teams can be taken into any League at MINORS and above (8 and up). 3. NO INTACT teams at the minors level can be held over year to year (so your minors team from last year has to be reformed this year, no retaining players). 4. If you intend to make the division "competitive" in ANY manner you must draft that division. Competitive means A) keeping score, or B) sending that division to Districts. 5. "Splitting" a division between "competitive" and "non-competitive" makes the division "competitive" - (and may not work for other reasons..) Therefore, Minors will need to be drafted beginning in the 2024 season. This year I will not enforce the requirement for a tryout for minors, but, will strongly encourage it next year. Please send me your tryout dates for Majors, and your draft dates for all other divisions please. I have two dates thus far. JP DA WA 13
