Little League Dist 13 update and ASAP thanks!
Hi All, Wanted to remind everyone about the ASAP plans and make sure you have them in. Also remember in 2024 the following need to be done: 1. ALL background checks need to be processed - we still have a couple leagues not in compliance. Everyone who comes in regular contact with the kids needs a background check 2. ALL volunteers need to go through child abuse training . ALL VOLUNTEERS. It's free at USA baseball and the will print the cert you need to put in your binders for Districts 3. ALL Coaches/Managers going to Districts need to have completed a Diamond Leader course (free) and have that cert in your binders for Districts. 4. Now that the season is underway, I wanted to make sure everyone is tracking on the rules for 2024. Remember at Districts we follow ALL rules exactly, so it's probably a good idea to learn those during the regular season by having your managers understand what is to be expected of them. 5. League assessment are coming. Based on our policy we voted on last fall, EACH league will be contributing $3 per player to the District Budget. Stacy has graciously accepted the responsibility of taking over treasurer duties and will be sending out assessments shortly. We will take the snapshot of registrations in a few days. This "snapshot" will be used to calculate the number of players to invoice for the assessments. We have a new League "rejoining" District 13. Bi-County has returned to Little League and we are happy to have them. For those of you that don't know Bi-County - they cover west of Spokane to Ritzville and they will be absorbing a league from District 5 which was based in Sprague. As to our North Spokane Little League, we are struggling with keeping a board together. There have been several formations and dissolutions during the process. but we are still working on it. I'll keep you posted. Coming up in a month or so (after the seasons get going) we will have another District meeting to iron out District Tournament details. Also, my offices are moving, so much of what I had for Little League in the way of documentation and things are in boxes in a storage unit. I am a bit discombobulated as we try to get offices moved. It's a several week process that I am in the middle of. PLEASE don't hesitate to call - the NEW District number is 509-995-4200.. We will also be moving the district mailing list. it will take a couple days to put the server in it's new location so if mails bounce, don't fret, it will be back.
