We want to say thanks for being GREAT Rodeo Customers… you all make our day!
We do need to talk with you about some things that *COULD* be affecting Rodeo coming up in 2026. As some of you may know, Washington State is raising it’s minimum wage Jan 1, 2026. We don’t know how this is going to impact our operating costs just yet, but wow…. Washington is THE highest minimum wage in the U.S. for 2026 and Seattle has the highest anywhere in the nation… by a lot.
Washington – approximately $17.13 per hour, highest statewide minimum wage in the U.S. for 2026.
New York – $17.00 per hour in New York City, Long Island, and Westchester; upstate NY at $16.00 per hour.
Connecticut – $16.94 per hour.
California – $16.90 per hour.
Hawaii / Rhode Island (tie) – both states set minimum wages at $16.00 per hour (Hawaii directly; Rhode Island typically reaches $16.00)
Seattle is $21.30 per hour for 2026.
As a comparison, Idaho’s minimum wage for 2026 is $7.25 – following Federal standards.
We don’t know yet how this will affect the Rodeo cost structures, and Clancy T. Jenkins , our bookkeeper , is struggling to make sense of it – We will do everything in our power to keep costs down to our customers, because we know you all need your internet; affordability is key for a lot of you . We are studying things carefully and will let you know if there are any cost increases on the horizon. But as you can see, these costs in Washington are more than double those for Idaho.

On a different note… Our mobile service distributor is changing in 2026. We will be offering a new Mobile carrier as our current one is curtailing operations and we want you to have the best option for low-cost, reliable mobile phone service. So be watching for that! For our mobile customers, we will be contacting you separately to get you set up on a better plan with better coverage.
