Back in January we told you we had a bunch of big announcements. Well , first we told you about a new website coming… should be out next week or thereabouts… then we told you about opening an office in Lewiston… well that’s underway as we speak…or type…
NOW the big announcement this week is….
We are upgrading and moving our wireless customers to a new wireless platform. The move should be complete in a week or so, but the upgrade process will take about 90 days. We are going to be able to deliver speeds in excess of 500mbps to our wireless customers, and even higher in some cases. On average we should be able to hit everyone with at least 300 Mbps – and the new price points will be VERY competitive with the satellite based services… we are also looking at expanding our wireless coverages… Look out Genessee, Uniontown, Colton, and so on… Lapwai? Maybe.
Anyway… the other thing this means is we MAY (might, maybe, possibly) have brief outages during the evenings of the next 10 days or so as we swap circuits. These outages will be brief (less than 10 minutes) and affect ONLY the wireless customers. Fiber customers will be unaffected. If you see your wireless gear blinking, or your streaming is briefly interrupted, that’s us messing with stuff. We will do most of these upgrades in the evening after 8:00 PM so that our business customers feel the least impact… and we apologize in advance if we interrupt for a couple minutes your binge watching of Landman or Yellowstone… 😊
After it’s all said and done, you all will have one kickin’ wireless system… (We wish we could tell you more, but we don’t want the “shock and awe” factor to be diminished when we roll out the new gear).
And for the record, this is our 2nd upgrade in 16 months, and our 5th since we went into business 15 years ago. At Rodeo we always try to keep you all geared up with the latest and best stuff… and our last two upgrades have really done the trick. Our uptimes on our wireless service is now over 99.99% with optimum bandwidth being delivered more than 92% of the time. Our goal is to get that even higher.
So bear with us as we crank up the good stuff even more… it’s gonna be great!
