Fiber Progress

Rodeo is pleased to update you that the new Clarkston Heights Project is ongoing and we can deliver Internet, Television, and Telephone to certain areas of the Clarkston Heights. We are delivering Gigabits of Speed, and we call the product the Rodeo Blaze! You can get fast, reliable, low cost internet in your house delivered by State of the Art Fiber Optic network. Also, if you are a Rodeo customer and refer someone to Rodeo for either Fiber or Wireless services, TV, or Telephone, you can get ONE MONTH FREE of your service! Just give us a call at 509-769-3030 option 2 and let us know who you are referring. If they sign up, you get a freebie!

Also, we want to let you know that we can also provide fiber services to businesses in certain areas of Lewiston. If your business needs fiber based Internet, TV, or Telephone, let us know!

Finally, the project to provide Fiber in the Grantham area in Clarkston is moving along nicely. We should be able to start delivering the Internet, TV, and Telephone services in that area by February 2024. This area is roughly defined as Fair Street, to Chestnut, to the river to 13th Street. We are taking signups now, so get your fiber secured and be the first in the area to get on Rodeo Fiber! If you are a Wireless Customer now in the Grantham area, you can get converted for free and get discounts on your monthly fiber bill.

System Uptime

The Rodeo Networks System has been running very well since our last update in October. In fact, we have had 99.89% uptime on the wireless network system-wide and some nodes have been as high as 99.99% up! This is exciting especially since we have had a rough summer on the wireless network with lightning strikes, rodents chewing through cables, and equipment upgrades. We did have an outage on 11/4/23 for 45 minutes that was due to a weakened power supply which was repaired almost immediately once the fault was pinpointed.

But what is even more impressive is that OUR FIBER NETWORK has had better than 99.9999% uptime (that’s less than a couple seconds of downtime!) uptime at full bandwidth since it went online in July. It’s been PERFECT! We are proud of that feat!

This uptime is better than MANY national providers providing service in our areas! We will continually upgrade and improve our networks to server you better. If you are having network slowdowns or service interruptions,  we can take a look at it free of charge from our TAC team and check and see if there is something we can do to “tune up” your connection.

Other times, some things may have changed the way your home “sees” the network. Customers have moved the antennas on wireless equipment and unintentionally degraded the signal. We have had people “paint over” antennas when doing home maintenance which causes the signal to degrade. Here are a few of the things that have happened at the customer’s location that caused the WIRELESS internet to perform poorly:

  1. “tripped” electrical breakers which shutdown the power supply to the equipment used to access the Rodeo Network
  2. Family dog “chewed” through data cables
  3. Roofers hit the antenna when putting on new shingles
  4. Gutter fell down and hit the antenna
  5. Wind blew tree branches on to the antenna
  6. Trees grew up to block the signal
  7. Someone parked and RV in front of the Antenna blocking it’s line-of-sight to the tower serving their home
  8. Fireworks hit the equipment
  9. Customer changed their password on their home router
  10. Neighbors got the password to their wi-fi and put 10-15 extra devices on their home network (they didn’t know the kids shared the WIFI password with neighbor kids)

And more. So please ask our TAC (Technical assistance Center – 509-769-3030 option 1) to do a “Link Analysis” (they are free) on your link to ensure you are getting full bandwidth on your WIRELESS connection to Rodeo and discuss any options to improve your link to our networks.

System Expansion Ideas?

Rodeo is considering expanding both our wireless and our fiber networks. We are currently considering expanding services to Waha, Julietta, Kendrick, and other locations. We would like to hear from you as to where YOU would like to see Rodeo Services. As an example, it would be reasonably possible to provide fiber services to Pomeroy. It may be possible to provide services to Genessee, Uniontown, or Lapwai… Let us know your thoughts as to where you think you could use Rodeo services?

Moving the Office

Rodeo is growing and adding new customers weekly (Yeee Haw!) And we need to get a different office configuration, so be looking for the official announcement of our new LC Valley location. Right now we are open Mon-Fri 10:00 AM-5:00 PM  excluding legal holidays at our current address of 909 6th Street in Clarkston. We are currently studying  spaces that meets all our technical requirements and office needs. We have inventory, work benches, technical support areas, sales desks, and administrative work spaces we need to plan for. It’s also necessary for us to be accessible to our customers, and be convenient for everyone that wants to come and visit us.

So be looking for our big announcement coming in the future of our new space.

New Kid on the Block

We would like to introduce Isaac, our new service tech in the LC Valley. Isaac is an Idaho native with experience gained in the Army National Guard where he has served in Kuwait for the US Military. We think Isaac is a great addition, an  good guy to work with the customers. If you want to say “Hi” or have a technical question, you can call him at 509-769-3030 option 1.  He’s backed up by Ryan, who you can also reach at the same number. Ryan is a pretty darn good hardware guy, and is dedicated to customer support and is working hard to maintain your satisfaction with Rodeo products and services.

Lastly as we approach Thanksgiving we want to let you know we stand in solidarity with Israel. Many of our staff have served in the Middle East and understand the issues there. Pray for the region daily.

Also we want to say thank you for your support and being Rodeo Customers. It means a lot to us, and we do like to hear from you. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, and enjoy time with your family if you can. Family is important to us, and we hope it is to you too.
