All,

In the next 2 weeks or so we will be switching backbone providers for our Rodeo Networks technical infrastructure. What this means is that we are upgrading the amount of available bandwidth feeding our networks.

We are working to make the transition seamless and non-impactful to our subscribers in terms of service interruptions, but we are also planning for contingencies should it not go smoothly. We will be “dual illuminating” the circuits for a while… Which means BOTH will service the network simultaneously and when we are sure the new one is stable and right, we will turn off the old one.

The BIGGEST impact will be those customers (primarily businesses) that require a static public IP. WE WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE NEW ONES FOR YOU during this transition. If you lose connectivity and you have a public, static IP address you are paying extra for, then please contact our NOC immediately… We will be working to ensure this doesn’t happen and that the transition is seamless for you as well, but just in case… Public IPs from the old network WILL NOT WORK after Feb 7 and you will need new ones.

The timeline is we will start the transition before Jan 31, and during the period of Jan 31 – Feb 7 we will be switching everyone over… after Feb 7 we will shut off the old0 feed and turn on the new.

The end result? MORE BANDWIDTH for the networks to run on! We always like more of the good stuff!
