Hi All,
We had a network outage on 5/29-5/30 overnight and into the morning on one of our nodes in east Lewiston. The node had been hit by lightning overnight and caused us to have to rebuild the “guts” of it. We had to wait for A) the rain to stop, and B) the lightning to stop before we could crack open everything and make the necessary repairs. The system was restored shortly after 2pm on Saturday. That particular node had about 20-30 customers on it. We apologize for the inconvenience and as always we look for ways to mitigate damage. The location was properly grounded, and lightning protected (as best you can with lightning), but we still got hit.
Let us know if you are experiencing any other weird after effects…. We called all the affected customers afterwards to check and make sure they were all up and running, but some people we could not get through to…
