I have been made aware of an agreement that was made between Mike Ray and Don Hester earlier this year and accepted by both staffs. They had agreed to swap major tournament years. District 6 would take the major baseball tournament in 2025 and host it at Hazel Dell on the 25^th anniversary of their World Series appearance. District 4 will have the major baseball tournament in 2027.

This would have been announced at our state meeting this fall. Under the circumstances this is good for all of us, since District 4 would not have been able to host this year because of by long tradition, a first-year D.A. is not allowed to host a major baseball or softball tournament.

As the new host of major baseball for the coming year, Melanie will be hosting the state meeting. I have made her aware that the option is to host the meeting Saturday, Sept. 28, after we attend the Mariners Suite game (Sept. 27). Or to host the meeting on a Saturday in October at a location of her choosing. Either way, we need arrangements made for the umpires – preferably in a different room, but it could also be using staggered times (for example umpires at 9, lunch at 11:00 and D.A meeting at 11:30). Melanie is having a district/staff meeting next weekend and will advise us of what we can do.
