We have finalized our arrangements with “Brewster Hall” in Cheney for the State 10-11 Baseball tournament. This place is convenient AND NICE! PLUS they have some features that will make it good for teams. This is a brand new property that has been turned into a VRBO. They have quoted “Little League” prices that are WAY below similar priced rooms/accommodations in the area. In addition it’s just a few blocks from the fields we will be playing on, and very close to the swimming pool we are working to get passes to for the players… (and we may have a golf-cart shuttle service between the hotel and the field – still working on that part of the plan).

 

The math works good. A 4 bedroom suite is $199 a night… this is equal to 4 hotel rooms. It’s also close to a little kind of “quaint” shopping area – check out the address on Google Maps street view.  Plenty of restaurants, pubs, and coffee shops in the area.

Here is the rundown:

 

  1. Prices are down below “normal” and at least 35% cheaper than anywhere else in the area.
  2. Each suite has a full kitchen.
  3. The facility has a laundry, and there is laundromat a block or two away as well.
  4. They have 2, 3, and 4 bedroom SUITES available.
  5. There are queens, doubles, and singles depending on the suite.
  6. The 4 bedroom can accommodate 6-8 persons WITHOUT using those big air mattress (see notes below about room capacity – you can use those big air mattresses if you want to add more sleeping spots to some of the suites). So with a little creative planning you could house nearly all your team in one suite!
  7. The property may have a breakfast restaurant and coffee shop in the first floor area…(It’s equipped with one, just working on folks to operate it for the tournament).
  8. Keep in mind there are BEDROOMS in the suites (not JUST BEDS) and there may be different BED configurations in each Suite. Some may have 4 queens, or a queen and two singles… ask the property manager what the bed configuration is for the suite you are interested in.

Here are the room breakdowns of what the current inventory is:

  1. 2 Bedroom Suites – 4 Available
  2. 3 Bedroom Suites – 9 Available
  3. 4 Bedroom Suites – 10 Available

 

Pricing:

  1. 2 Bedroom - $99 per night ($30 cleaning fee + state taxes not included) 
  2. 3 Bedroom - $165 per night ($30 cleaning fee + state taxes not included) 
  3. 4 Bedroom - $199 per night ($30 cleaning fee + state taxes not included)

 

Some rules:

 

  1. At least 1 Adult must be staying in each suite. (Adult=person 21 or over)
  2. Kids cannot cook in the rooms without direct adult supervision
  3. “Quiet time” begins at 10:00PM and ends at 7:00AM – players should not be in common areas (game room if one is available), running in the halls etc.
  4. You may put up to 2 air-mattresses or extra beds per suite (thus a 2 bedroom suite could hold up to 6 people possibly depending on which bed configuration is in the suite)
  5. Damage deposits may be required….“you break it – you bought it” rule in place. Keep an eye on the players and siblings so they don’t tear up the place. It’s nice.
