I am including Brittany Freeze and Loris Gies to this group. since they will be taking over Districts 2 and 3, respectively on Oct. 1.
September Friday night games were difficult for getting to the Mariners this year. There are only two - the 4th and the 25th. I didn't want people trying to travel on the Friday night of Labor Day. Not everyone can start for Seattle at noon (earlier for the
Eastern Washington folks), and the 25th was full.
So we ended up with.a Sunday game. We have done this before and it worked pretty well.
That still lets us have a meeting on Saturday, the 26th. I don't have a site yet. Bob tried the Lake Washington location where we have met before. They wanted over $600. The meeting costs go to the district that hosts the Major softball tournament, so
I am trying to find a cheaper location for District 4.
I have a couple of ideas in the Olympia area that I will explore. Hotels are cheaper in Olympia when the legislature isn't in session, so if I can get a cheaper meeting space there, it will work out for everyone. It is also a pretty central location.
More information for an exact location of our Saturday meeting will follow next week after I have a chance to make some calls for a spot with two meeting rooms and then consult with Ann.
