Crimes with or against a minor is an automatic exclusion. You have to check with Little League if a volunteer is on the sex offender list. Beyond that, most leagues look at how recent and how big a crime. They might also put restrictions on someone convicted of a vehicle crime, such as DWI. I also had a league find out their new treasurer had been out of prison for less than a year after being convicted of embezzlement. In that case, they just switched him to another volunteer position.
Hello,
Does anyone have advice for setting requirements of what passes or fails a background check when the items in the background check are not crimes against children? I can't find anything definitive or even guidance with LL. What I hear is each league can set what is acceptable and not acceptable.
