Doubleheaders are OK with me. I prefer to have the second game and let the teams get home one day earlier.

For the record – I’m not a fan of doubleheaders on Championship Day. I’d prefer to stay the extra night and play the “If necessary” game on the 24th (Sorry Doug).

JP,

Schedule looks great, only suggestion I would make would be to have the What If game played on July 23rd, this relieves the families of having to keep their hotel room one more night when it might not be needed.

Also better for your tournament volunteers to not have to commit another day and have their weekend free.

I think you are allowed to have a double header.

Hi,

I have heard back from many of you regarding the questions I had about State Tournament for 12 year olds… Deer Park sounded OK with everyone that responded, so I will continue my work with the League there and get it done.

We have made the draws for the brackets and roughed in a basic schedule. I figured out (something everyone has done before I am sure), how to get the games all played on 2 fields without using the lights. I will send out a clean version of the brackets in a few days.

It’s roughly this right now, subject to change of course:

July 16th – Review/Certify books, team parade/opening ceremonies, presidents/DA meetings in Deer Park

July 17th – 5 games (all first tier bracket games), starting at 9:00 AM – should be done by 5:00 PM

July 18th – Games - Town square party (Stealing an idea from Jim W. and his crew!)

July 19th  - Games  start at 9:00 AM

July 20th  - Games Start at 10:00 AM

July 21st   - Games Start at 11:00 AM

July 22nd  - Games Start at 12:00 PM

July 23rd   - Games  Championship game 1st try on the 23rd  Game Start at 12:00 PM

Whatif game on the 24th

We are working on getting deals for hotels and team meals and fun stuff for the players… will update more in the future. There is a theme park (Silverwood) https://www.silverwoodthemepark.com  nearby as well as lots of lakes and outdoor stuff to do (Ziplines, water toys at the lakes/rivers, etc)…  Deer Park is still in phase 1 for COVID stuff, but it’s looking like that will be lifted to Phase 2 soon…

They will need team pictures, bios, other info by the 7th of July if possible for programs. You should have a complete tournament package by the 20th of June.
