I’m lucky this year… or blessed or something… A) We have perfect baseball weather (low 80s instead of the usual 97 degree+ weather). B) A great staff at West Plains LL (they actually have TOO MANY Volunteers) C) And one of the tournament sponsors (Click-It RV out of Spokane<https://www.clickitrv.com/> ) gave us a 40’ RV for our tournament office and umpires rest area. The ladies from West Plains have been feeding the umps there, its air conditioned and there is an office in the back of the RV with Wi-Fi internet so I can send everyone updates as they happen. This RV is incredible… 7-8 umpires can sit comfortably, it has a full kitchen, ice-cold AC, bathroom and shower, Fridge, freezer, and ice maker, TVs with 50 channels on each one… an outside awning and it’s parked in such a way that windows on one side watch games on one of the fields, and on the other is a secluded place outside with an awning and TV and the umps have a circle of camp chairs to sit in and visit if they don’t want to sit inside. Umpires can change, shower, eat, and relax in comfort. D) We have 3 umpires each game and 4 for the semi finals and finals. For those of you that sent umpires… thanks very much. E) The Brewster Hall deal with all those condo rooms is a huge help AND they gave us their meeting rooms, common areas, and Bistro to feed our managers (They had roast pork loin dinner catered in for their manager’s meeting) F) Sponsors around town have given enough gift cards and prizes for EVERY player of the game - each game. G) Opening Ceremonies were fun and very “old school” with a team parade, dunk tank, cornhole, yard games, food vendors, home run derby, and the color guard from Fairchild Air Force Base presenting the colors for the “human sung” National Anthem… The feeling for opening ceremonies was that you were hanging out in your backyard with friends. My ADAs and West Plains volunteers are making so I am obsolete… I’m just hanging out having fun! Thanks for sending your teams!
