All, (Tournament information below as well - so read the whole thing!) I wanted to let you all know that BOTH districts (5/13) GOT ALL THEIR ASAP PLANS SUBMITTED! Thanks so much, this will equate to $600 being added to the District fund that we can use for all kinds of things related to Little League. This year we will use it to buy pins and flags for the District AND STATE tournaments (seeing as how both districts have a State Tournament this year!). I am SO very proud of all the effort you all put into getting this done. Now my next goal is to get all the leagues to upload their player registrations into the Data Center. You can do this automatically from Blue Sombrero/ Sports Connect. this helps Little League immensely and gives YOU tools to market your programs the following year. Next week we will need to have a District-wide meeting regarding some rules changes for the year, AND to discuss and get team counts for District Tournaments. I will send out the Zoom or Google Meets invites by Saturday for next week. ALL PRESIDENTS SHOULD ATTEND and ANY Board Member that would like to attend may. Most likely it will be next Thursday - after work. Please have the divisions in mind you would like to send to the District Tournament. We have the following to pick from for Brackets: 9-10 Year Old - Minors - Baseball/Softball 10-11 - Baseball 11-12 - Majors - Baseball/Softball 11-13 - Intermediate - Baseball 12-14 - Juniors - Baseball The District 5 Tournament this year will be in Walla Walla at Pacific Little League - Jim Fry President The District 13 Tournament this year will be in Deer Park at Tri-County Little League - Ryan Wilson - President There are lots of new boards and board members in both Districts, so for those of you that don't know, each year the Districts have a District All-Star tournament. This is the beginning of the "Road to Williamsport" as they say. The district tournament is where each league sends a team of it's best players to play against all the other leagues in the District for the chance to go to State. Ages 12 and above go on to regionals if they win state, and from Regionals, all ages above 12 can go to a World Series --- (each Division age 12 and above have state, regional, and world series options to play). Ages under 12 can only advance to State. This is a great incentive for your players to play their best and a great honor to be selected on to a District All-Star Team. We have not received all the league assessments for this year, so please get those sent in. Without the Annual League assessment, we would have to fund district operations out of our pockets.. As a question, there had been talk of a both an early season tournament and a mid-season tournament - in both districts, or one for both districts. is there still any interest in that? Please let me know. Thanks for the work of our Assistant DAs - Brennan Moore in Distrct 5 and Stacy Ashcroft in District 13, and of course the great workshop Mark Dixon (District 13 UIC) and Dennis Williams (State UIC) put on for umpires in Medical Lake. we actually had umpires attend from BOTH Districts. Dennis does a good job always, and Mark has taken the reigns in District 13 very nicely. We do need to find a District UIC for District 5, so if you all have a SEASONED UIC who wants to improve the umpire situation district wide, have them contact me. of course, it's a volunteer position but very much needed.
