All As we approach District Tournament time, it's important to make sure your managers / coaches are aware of the new standards and some of the old ones. First make sure that they (managers and coaches) have completed their on-line Diamond Leader training and a copy of their certificate is in the Tournament Binder. Second, NO ONE may interact with the players when they are in the dugouts during game time, or ON THE FIELD other than to cheer them on. Dugouts and pitching warmup areas will be secured. Next, No communications outside the playing field and dugouts for the coaches and managers. The game is played on the fields and with no help for "assistants" in the stands or otherwise. And.NO CHATTER! You can encourage your team mates, but you can't interfere with your opponents. This is a sportsmanship rule covered in the Green book. ALL Managers must be in attendance for the Manager's meeting, AND/OR one of the coaches on the Affadavit , No, a board member or president may not attend in their place. We will be having a presidents' meeting during the tournament, please keep in mind the President, VP, Sec, or Treas can stand in for the president if the time does not work. There will be decisions made for the future in the Presidents meeting. Below is a list of other rules and changes for the 2023 tournament season. Please be familiar with them and make sure that any managers and coaches are aware. Important Rules and/or Changes First Game - For teams without DA approval to carry less, 12 players should be in attendence at the first game (when the affidavit becomes official). If a player is missing for illness or other justifiable reason, play on. If any players have been removed from the roster (crossed out) - please call the protest line. Managers or coaches are NOT permitted to warm up a pitcher at home plate or in the bullpen or elsewhere at any time, including in-game warm-up, pre-game warm-up, and in other instances. Courtesy Runners may not be utilized during the batter's first at-bat per Rule 2.0. Eye black - The LLI guidance regarding tattoos and eye black usage is intended for implementation at ALL REGIONAL AND WORLD SERIES TOURNAMENTS THAT ARE BROADCASTED ON THE ESPN FAMILY OF NETWORKS and was part of an information packet handed out to the umpires working the LLWS. There are no restrictions on eye black at lower levels. Intentional Walk - Once per batter per game. Run Rule - Majors and below: Intermediate ->Sr. 15 after 3, 2.5 if home is ahead 15 after 4, 3.5 if home is ahead 10 after 4, 3.5 if home is ahead 10 after 5, 4.5 if home is ahead Tie Game - When the completion of six innings (INT, JL, SL: seven innings), and the score is tied, the following tie-breaker will be played to determine a winning team: * The 7th inning (8th) will be played as normal. * Starting in the top of the 8th (9th) inning, and each half inning thereafter, the offensive team shall begin its turn at bat with the player who is scheduled to bat last in that respective half inning being placed on second base CBO - If a player is injured, becomes ill, or must leave the game site after the start of the game, the team will skip over him/her when his/her time at bat comes up without penalty. If the injured, ill, or absent player returns, he/she is inserted into their original spot in the order and the game continues. * If a player is unable to complete a plate appearance due to injury, illness, or ejection, the next batter in the lineup shall take his/her place at the plate and assume the count of the original batter. * If a batter becomes a runner by reaching base safely and is unable to run the bases due to injury, illness, or ejection, he/she hall be replaced by the player who recorded the last out or with a Courtesy Runner if applicable.
