Move and Reorganizing New Coverage Area Tower Move Phone Issues April has been a crazy busy month! Not only did we move a huge chunk of the Rodeo Operations, but we have been redoing our services platform and still rolling out new customers. Here are some of the details. Outage 5/13 Yesterday (5/13) we had an outage due to power failure. It affected about 30 wireless customers off of one tower/node in our network. The reason for the failure was power related. once diagnosed, it took us a bit to effect the repairs, but everyone was back on line at around 11:30 AM. we apologize for the outage. The power system that failed was probably 6 years old and had served it's time well. Fiber Roll Out We are still in the middle of our fiber roll out in the Grantham area. we are seeing great success in the new service. Customers are well please with the speed and reliability of the new system, and after putting on a ton of customers, we are still only using about .5% of the total allocated resources for the new fiber optic service to the home. We are offering speeds from 100mbps to 1Gbps - with prices starting at $39 for our most basic fiber service. BUT WAIT - There's more! Friends and Family plan! Wanna get a month free of internet? Move and Reorganizing We have been doing a lot of moving and reorganizing the offices and technical infrastructure at Rodeo. As you know we deprecated our TV services and switched to Fubo for TV offering. But there was a whole lot more going on. We have been moving our Spokane operation to the LC Valley (now that's a switch huh?) and redoing our technical infrastructure. This is in preparation for expansion and system upgrades that will most likely happen in the fall of 2024. In the technology business you have to be continually improving and creating new products and services. or. well you kind of fade away. so, we moved a lot of resources to the LC Valley because we see growth opportunities here. and this is our home base anyway! So be looking for new things coming in the fall. including. New Coverage Area Coming soon to Clarkston is yet more fiber. The new coverage area is WEST of 13th street, and South of Highland. Basically going to the end of town from just south of Highland down into the Port area. This new fiber area will be served by Rodeo, and we are making an effort starting NOW to get these folks signed up for Rodeo! The new fiber service will have blazing fast internet with the reliability of fiber. Rodeo Customers in this area will get converted to fiber for FREE. And yes, the friends and family offer applies to this new area as well! Tower Move We will be moving our "L" tower at the end of May. This may cause service disruption for a day or two for less than a dozen customers. This tower move is necessary as we no longer have the lease on the land the tower sits on, so we have to dismantle the tower by the 31th of May and move it to a new location. So between now and May 31th we MAY be around to your business or residence to repoint your antenna to a new tower. AND if you know of anyone who has a spot of land EAST of the Lewiston "L" on the top of the Lewiston Grade that would let us put some antennas up, let us know. Give us a call at the office and let us know your ideas. We have a spot we'd put our antennas on, but it's not the best spot. The best spot is about a half a mile east of the Lewiston "L" on the top of that hill. Whoever owns that land or knows who owns that land, we'd like to talk to them. but generally east of the "L" is a good spot to put up a new service. We are looking at extending to Waha better and possibly into Lapwai from there. So - give us some ideas. Phone Issues We have been working on phone issues since the move. In the new location all of the phone customers have been restored except a couple. and those two are giving us some time of "head scratching". Our new location for the phone service is working much better than the old one, except for these two customers.. We did experience about a 3 day roll over where the phone service was intermittent but we got those issues sorted. Then, it came down to the last two and we are still working on those. We hope to have it all smoothed out by mid next week. Thanks much - we wanted to say how much we appreciate each and every customer we have.
