Hello everyone!!Today has been a very long, but exciting day. We started the morning with Opening Ceremonies which was short and sweet. We did end opening Ceremonies today with a moment of silence, instead of a "first pitch". The young man that was supposed to throw out the first pitch, was one of our Sedro Woolley Little League players. Last year he was diagnosed with bone cancer and this past Tuesday, he lost his battle with cancer at the age of 15. We decided to honor him instead of finding someone else to throw out a pitch. The games today were all action packed and even though some of the scores look a little lopsided, they were all good games. Your players, parents and coaches, for the most part, have been absolutely amazing. Here are the results of Day 1:Game 1 D3 - Larch Mountain - 10D10 - Bonney Lake Sumner - 4Game 2D9 - Bellevue National - 17D13 South Spokane - 0Game 3D4 Camas - 10D11 North Whidbey - 0Game 4D7 - South Highline - 3D8 - Northeast Seattle - 10Game 5 D2 South Kitsap - 0D12 Richland National - 4We have 5 more games tomorrow, with 1 loser out game. Right now, all of your teams are watching a game of Banana Ball, (think Savannah Bananas) put on by a bunch of volunteers from the entire District. All of the players are all former Little League players from District 11. And yes, we have people in banana costumes and flamingo costumes. Lots of music, games for the kids and parents, and a whole lot of fun for everyone. Shout out to Bob Toigo for his visit today! If any other DA's want to come up and watch, you are more than welcome!! Shout out to D10 and D9 for sending umpire crews!! You guys rock!! Thank you!All in all, it was a good day up here in D11! Hope you all have a great night!!Susie TuckerDA WA 11360-914-2036Sent via the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G, an AT&T 5G smartphone
