JP has tried to get a field at his other softball league, but it doesn’t appear he will be able to free up a field there, either. Is there anyone out there that would take this tournament? It is scheduled for July 1. Carol has expressed some concern over dates for tournaments. I have attached the published schedule with modifications in the regional and world series scheduled dates (I last checked and confirmed the dates we had on March 1 before republishing the tournament schedules. I don’t know when they changed) and I am reprinting her email below so I don’t screw up her research. Last year the intermediate tournament won by District 3 -Elma – ended on Sunday and they had to be in Nogales, AZ, by Wednesday. They had to raise $5,000 – which they did by Sunday around 8 p.m. It was a little stressful, but the board did a good job of raising money and the president is very organized and got the airline and hotel arrangements done by Sunday evening. The way this is planned for 2024, it would finish on Saturday and they have to be in Nogales by Wednesday. I agree with Carol that this could be difficult without a strong board and organized president. What thoughts do you all have about this. My suspicion is that fields are reserved and changes will be tough. We may need to be sure there is longer than a week between state and regional next year if they are going to move start dates from Saturday to mid-week. Glen, I just found the 2024 West Region Tournament Calendar - West and it still doesn't make sense for intermediate and senior baseball. We see the state ends which tie to our form. However, the West form only show the regional end states and not the start of the regional tournament. I found the regional start dates below in LL info from National. The 3 days between the end of state and the start of regional may only make sense if LL is handling the airfare. I don't think that is true for those levels. I guess that we need to know how many districts are sending teams for intermediate and seniors to state. I base my district tournaments on the end date to make sure the teams have the right amount of time and other considerations to get to the next level. That way, if teams are added or deleted, the start of the tournament is adjusted, not the end. This is what I have based on current info I see in LL: Intermediates State in D10 (Kent area) July 6 - 13 Regional at Nogales, AR July 17 - 15 World series Livermore, CA July 28-Aug 4 I agree that it is a quick around between state and regional. 3 days to get air fares - am I correct that the players pay and schedules their air? They do Seniors State in D1 (Lynnwood area) July 6-13 Regional at Oakland, CA July 17-23 World series at Easley, SC July 27-Aug 3 I agree that it is a quick around between state and regional. 3 days to get air fares - am I correct that the players pay and schedules their air?
