All I had on the 15th was a probable place to play and a couple of leagues complaining they didn't want to volunteer except on someone else's field. I got creative over the weekend and found some older people who will be bussed to the fields to do books and announcing. They all have scorekeeping experience and softball is the easiest to keep score for. And my bracket isn't approved, but with Rob Little's help and advice on squaring it up to Little League standards, I am going to send it out and hope for the best. The deadline needs to be adhered to, but most of us aren't doing it. This is why I need to be out of the district - I should have resigned last year when my world started crumbling and I wanted to stay on. It wasn't until this winter that I realized I couldn't do this without support at home. If you all want me to stay on at the state level I can be more active in helping get this type of thing done. But trying to do a district, run tournaments, do books, etc. leaves me no time. I apologize to all for my neglect and tardiness. Softball Majors is the only level that didn’t get pushed back by a week. There is a housing issue with the girls at the LLWS in North Carolina for them as they have to be done before college starts at East Carolina University—since they stay in the college dorms there. So they didn’t get an extra week.
Our Softball Majors tournament (D8) will be completed by the end of this week (and so will Intermediate Baseball).

From District 3 - I start district tournaments today. I thought with the later regional and state tournaments this year, districts would delay tournaments by a week, so I am behind on the state packet, which I delegated to one of my staff who lives closer to the fields and can get better information. I didn't do a good job of communicating the deadline with her, so she was also thinking district tournaments would be later. I will probably get it late this afternoon, but I probably won't have time to look at it until during my lunch time tomorrow.
