Hi All, As we head into Thanksgiving, I want to say "Thanks" to all the volunteers and helpers that helped the local leagues last year, and are planning to be a part of Little League this year! Thank you, thank you, thank you! So here are some things you can look forward to next year: 1. We hope to have new divisions for Little League in 2026 in the Spokane area. Many leagues are considering "Intermediate" or "50/70" baseball for 2026. This is a division for 11-13 year olds that play on a 50/70 field, has "balks", pick-offs, and lead-off base stealing. In 2027, District 13 will be hosting the Intermediate state tournament so we want to have teams ready to play from District 13! Contact your local league and ask about this great new division. We can also do a Division called "Juniors" which is 12-14 year olds if there is interest! 1. Several leagues are offering softball this year, so if you have someone that wants to play softball, we'd love to have them! 1. The District office is looking for "ADAs" - or Assistant District Administrators. We need several, this is a volunteer position (as just about everything Little League is!) and we need lots of help at the "District" level. The job entails helping leagues run their seasons, arranging tournaments, helping with training, attending state and regional meetings, and working with the community to improve Little League for everyone! Call the District office at 509-995-4200 if you are interested in becoming an Assistant District Administrator. The "District" is the level of management and support for local leagues that is between the "Region" (In San Bernardino CA., ) and the "Local" -Spokane Area - leagues. We help with the administration and running of the local league. (Did we mention we needed helpers? We could use 7 or 8 volunteers!) 1. And if you want to help run the league, almost ALL Boards in our region are looking for Board members to help run the league. Call the District office if you are interested in helping with running your local league! 1. We also have an umpire training session being planned. Our Umpire-in-Chief for the District (Mark Dixon) - has plans to help raise up more umpires across the district, so please contact him by calling the District office, or through our website for more details. 1. We are hoping to expand Little League to the North of Spokane more... some great towns that can use Little League as their vehicle of playing baseball would be Chewelah, Colville, Kettle Falls, Republic, and Omak. If you have contacts in those towns that would be interested in talking Little League for their baseball programs, have them contact us! 1. Finally, the North Spokane League is hosting a winter workout season! Check out the flyer below.... ALL players from ANY league or program are welcome to attend. This is open to everyone!
