D4 is fine with portable mounds, we use them during districts at many fields. One thing I should probably let everyone know about the one Intermediate field that we have in my district is that I didn't find out until yesterday, AFTER I had already finished and sent out the manager packet that my host league purchased a brand new portable 8 inch pitching mound to use for this tournament. I had not been out to their facility since early spring and they didn't realize that this was something that I needed to have approved if we're hosting anything above districts...
I have an email in to Kit/Tournament Committee asking for permission to use it and I anticipate that it will be approved; but that being said, I could use your help spreading the word to managers that there most likely be a portable mound and that means that pitchers are going to be asked/required to use turf shoes and not metal cleats when they are pitching. I will personally make sure to let your winning managers know as I touch base with each of them before they drive over here as well!
Thank you,
