Intermediate State Packet and Bracket
Hello fellow DA's and thank you for your patience... Attached please find the Intermediate State manager packet and tournament bracket (which has been posted to the state website for a week or so). Rob said he will also get this packet posted on the state website for me as well. If you could please text me the league name of your district's winning team along with their manager's name and contact info ASAP I would really appreciate it. My cell number is 509-366-1345. Thanks! Kim
Looking for your help and support, and not monetarily! Next year we'll start earlier, but anything you can do to promote the World Series would be appreciated. We need to start with our majors, keep them in Little League and maybe the Jr League World Series is the carrot? One thing I should probably let everyone know about the one Intermediate field that we have in my district is that I didn't find out until yesterday, AFTER I had already finished and sent out the manager packet that my host league purchased a brand new portable 8 inch pitching mound to use for this tournament. I had not been out to their facility since early spring and they didn't realize that this was something that I needed to have approved if we're hosting anything above districts... I have an email in to Kit/Tournament Committee asking for permission to use it and I anticipate that it will be approved; but that being said, I could use your help spreading the word to managers that there most likely be a portable mound and that means that pitchers are going to be asked/required to use turf shoes and not metal cleats when they are pitching. I will personally make sure to let your winning managers know as I touch base with each of them before they drive over here as well! Thanks Glen—I have already sent the specs etc. to Kit and she has forwarded to Jake for presentation to the tournament committee. If you’re talking about my neighbors to the east, the mounds that his league purchased were an inch too tall (because they didn’t ask him or check the rules) My host league for Intermediates are the ones who are loaning him mounds that are the correct height for that age division.😊 I believe those mounds are in the process of being approved this week as well, but I would certainly hope that as long as they’re the right size according to the rule book and they’re brand new, then they should be approved even if they aren’t the Tru Pitch brand—I could be wrong on this, but I don’t think it’s "legal" to force leagues to purchase a certain name brand of pitching mound when there are perfectly good alternative brands out there that fit the right specs. I thought there was a word for that in capitalist economic systems, lol 😂…🤷🏼♀️ That being said, I always thought that only you guys over on the wet-side of the state were into the portable pitching mounds because you tend to have more turf fields and a lot more spring/summer rain etc.; I was shocked when my host league for Intermediate said they were using one because we have only ever had dirt mounds around here, except for maybe in the bullpens. But it's obvious that portable mounds are starting to become the norm more and more, regardless of where you live--I'm told by my host league here that it's because dirt mounds are becoming super expensive and difficult for volunteers to maintain. Thanks, Kim. I should have known you had sent the information out because you're the one that rescued Brennan. I don't like portable mounds, much, but it does save wear and tear on the mounds in wet weather. And I have also observed that many mounds are put together poorly. So I understand the portables. It would be against the law to require only one kind of mound, but Little League makes it very difficult to get by with anything other than Tru-Pitch. I had a mound that was two inches too short for intermediate a few years ago and I had to move one from one league to another. Those things are not light! On Mon, Jun 22, 2026 at 9:32 AM J. I thought there was a word for that in capitalist economic systems, lol 😂…🤷🏼♀️
That being said, I always thought that only you guys over on the wet-side of the state were into the portable pitching mounds because you tend to have more turf fields and a lot more spring/summer rain etc.; I was shocked when my host league for Intermediate said they were using one because we have only ever had dirt mounds around here, except for maybe in the bullpens. But it's obvious that portable mounds are starting to become the norm more and more, regardless of where you live--I'm told by my host league here that it's because dirt mounds are becoming super expensive and difficult for volunteers to maintain.

I'm fine with portable mounds.
Be sure to get the model number and specs to West Region ASAP. One of the districts in the state has been turned down and scrambled to find a replacement. There was nice inter-district cooperation to get this solved to the benefit of the players and teams.

I'm fine with portable mounds.
Be sure to get the model number and specs to West Region ASAP. One of the districts in the state has been turned down and scrambled to find a replacement. There was nice inter-district cooperation to get this solved to the benefit of the players and teams.

We will be using them during the Baseball 8-9-10 State Tournament, and was included with the bracket I sent to Western Region for approval.
Note, we use TruePitch portable mounds, since those are the ones approved by Little League.

Thank you,
