All, District 5 is DONE - whew. here is who we have coming to State. with possibly one exception. our Juniors team has had a problem in that their Manager was injured and is undergoing evaluation at the moment. We will know by the end of the day if we have to scratch the Juniors team. Baseball 8-10 - Pullman Little League 10-11 - Walla Walla Valley Majors - Walla Walla Valley Intermediate - Pullman Little League (advance without play) Juniors - Touchet Valley Little League (advance without play - manager injured yesterday - may have to scratch from tournament) Softball 8-10 - Othello Little League (advance without play) Majors - Othello Little League (advance without play) For those that are "advance without play" - we actually had more participation in our regular season for the various divisions in D5. We had a couple leagues do softball, several do intermediate, and one do Juniors for the first time. I like our growth, but unfortunately because of the horrible weather, and the fact that gas prices are scaring parents, we couldn't assemble all-star teams for Districts for those that are AWP. I will have AWP letters in their binders. Additionally - In D5 you may have to travel 150 miles to play in the District Tournament and that means always staying overnight. no matter what. This year we had the fullest District tournament we have had in about 10 years, with an OUTSTANDING showing in baseball by Othello Little League, a newcomer to D5. I fully expect to see a couple teams from Othello at state next year. They learned the "ropes" after not appearing in a Little League tournament in 2 decades and were in the championship game in 2 of the 3 toughest brackets. Tournament Packets

June 15 is the date set for everyone to send out tournament packets. To date I have only seen Senior, Junior and Intermediate Baseball. And 8-10 softball and a partial packet on major softball. (Other softball may be out but I was probably left out because I don’t have teams in them) Please be sure the remaining state packets get out ASAP. Tournaments are starting and the best chance for a smooth transition between district and state is when the D.A. can hand the district winner the packet and be sure the manager (or manager’s spouse) understands his/her responsibilities as outlined in the packet.

9-11 Softball State Tournament

All, So sorry for the delay. My laptop decided now would be a good time to shut down, so I had to go buy a new one and re-do everything that I had previously done. Attached is the 9-11 Softball State Tournament packet and the current bracket. I will get a new, prettier version out as soon as I can, but this one at least has all the information everyone needs. Pairings stayed the same with the exception of D12 who lost their bye slot and will play in the slot D7 vacated. Have I Missed Packets?

District 3 is in all divisions of baseball and NO softball this year. If the major baseball and 9-11 packets are out, could you send them to me again? I can’t find them.
