WA State DA's Meeting Minutes and To-Do Followup

Hi everyone, Attached are the minutes from the WA State DA's meeting from earlier this week. There are some All Star items that still need some info, so please Reply All so that we can get the updates: 1. State SB 8-10: Was D6 successful in determining if they can host, and if so, is July 19 still the start date? If there is a location as well, please provide that. 2. State SB Seniors: D2 and D8 will be having a team. Please advise if other Districts were also going to have a team. * If only D2 and D8, then the two DA's will meet to determine dates, logistics, etc. * If more, then we need to know because this will all need to be planned. 3. Baseball 8-10: Host D7, Location unknown, July 19-26 4. Baseball Juniors: Host D2, Location TBD, July 5-13 Glen said he will send out an updated WA State Tournament calendar with details once we have the above information. Pat (D2), Bob (D9) and Melanie (D6) are going to work on a common set of All Star pre-game procedures so that all Districts can be consistent. When its ready (or a draft), they will communicate it out. That's it for now. If the district name is green, it is one year out of date (but may be accurate). If it is in black, it is two or more years out of date (but also may be accurate). If your district isn't in red and the directory is accurate and up to date, please send me a note to that effect. If you send it (or any changes) to wdist3ll(a)gmail.com, everyone doesn't have to read what you're sending just to me. I'll give it a week and then republish it as a final copy.

Revised Agenda

Attached is the revised agenda. I'm sorry for my earlier error. I made the revisions and sloppily didn't save it. When I sent it, the computer chose the last saved version (as it is supposed to), but that meant that the original rather than the revision was sent. I saved it and the new agenda magically appeared. 8-10 SB State Tournament in Vancouver WA

Hello fellow DAs, For those of you who were not in CA last Saturday you were missed. As I stated some time ago, I could not confirm the 8-10 State Softball dates until I found a host league and we worked out our tournament schedule. I believe we have completed this as best as we can at this time. We have decided to hold the *8-10 State SB tournament June 28 - July 3*. This is what works best for the host league. Yes, this is early and most tournaments that don't advance past state are later in July. However, we believe by holding this tournament earlier we will avoid the rush of state tournaments which start July 5 and the other four that start the next two weekends. We also believe if we get this tournament done early players will be free to join other age-appropriate teams if they are needed. We are going to have some double headers (two games in a day but they may not be back to back) to shorten the tournament from nine days to six. Travel is expensive and we want to help the families out as much as we can.
