Are you able to do that? It will be helpful to us of course. So you're clear about our intent, our goal is to establish our camp for an annual visit to Spokane. The Mariners want to support the baseball community and have a presence there at a grass roots level. Typically we not only put on the camps but also free preseason coaching clinics - which provides great benefit to all attending coaches and an even greater number of kids. Ultimately our goal is that someone based in Eastern Washington would take on the camps as their own entity, truly rooting it there rather than being put on from the outside. District Tournament Brackets, directions and schedule notes

All, I am pleased to announce the District 13 Brackets. You all have done great this year in getting more teams to the tournament than District 13 has seen in a while. There are several goals with the District Tournament: 1. To reward players that have excelled during the year 2. To start the road to Williamsport and the Little League World Series 3. To promote YOUR league to next year's players and parents 4. To show the parents the quality of your programs/leagues I'd like to ask that during each game there is at least 1 representative from boards of the Leagues that are playing to be present for the game. The president preferably, but any Board member that can represent the League is requested. Please read all of the notes in the attached docs. There is an error on the 8-10 bracket. it has to do with the field assignments. it's not a serious error and it's explained in the attached notes. (It has to do with which field is assigned to which division.. the notes are correct, the bracket is not). There is a Google Earth Image showing the location of the fields in Liberty Lake. There are plenty of warm up areas just to the west of the fields on the same complex. We will discuss that in the Manager's meeting. Steve Raab will be the Tournament Director. You can direct questions to him or me. His contact info is in the notes document. AGAIN PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY!!! IT has lots of info! On another note, West Plains Little League's Salnave field got chosen for a "Field Makeover" by KXLY and they have already begun work on it (In fact the "reveal" is Thursday!) District Tournament Draws

All The draws for the District Tournament will be this afternoon, and I will send out a notice after the draws are done as to schedule, brackets, etc. I am really proud of the effort that all the leagues have put forth in assembling teams for districts. I would like us to push next year to make it even better. We don't have any softball in Districts this year, and no Intermediate but we do have a good showing in the other divisions. We can have a "proper" District Tournament . This is who/how many have committed to attend Districts: South Hill - 10-11, Majors Liberty Lake - 9-10, 10-11, Majors West Plains - 9-10, 10-11, Majors Tri County - 9-10, Majors Since we don't have any committed Intermediate teams this year, we will focus on the start date of the 27th for our Tournament for Liberty Lake's planning purposes. I will be meeting with Steve this afternoon for the draws, and to get the final pieces in place for the tournament. Winners of Districts will go on to State, and the Majors and above can go on to Regionals and Williamsport. This looks good. Next year we need to get Intermediate, Juniors, and some softball going! I appreciate greatly all the Presidents doing their jobs and getting some effort behind the All-Star process! JP

Umpires for Othello?

All, Since the kind folks in Othello are new to the Little League world, they were wondering if there were any umpires they can get to come up to Othello and do some games.. They have quite a few. I told them it was a bit late to be digging for umpires, but as I said, the folks there are trying to figure out how all this works. BTW Othello is planning on sending 3-4 teams this year to Districts! And next year they will have a jump on things and can send people to the umpire clinics for training. JP DA WA5/13

All, Please get your tournament teams registered ASAP . Pretty Please! Go to the Data Center and register your divisions for District Play (it's under the International Tournament Registration). Keep in mind that all divisions you register WILL NEED TO GO TO STATE if they win Districts. We need to do draws Monday or Tuesday of next week so we can publish the brackets and times. All, It's time for the presidents to register their teams for districts. This is IMPORTANT. we need them registered by FRIDAY. so we can order pins, banners, etc. PLEASE GO TO THE DATA CENTER and register for the "International Tournament". We will be looking at this as the official team counts. Please get it done today/Thursday as I will take this registrations to plan for District tournament details. Thanks for your prompt attention. Getting Proud of Dist 13

All, I have been tracking activity in the data center. you all are doing really well compared to 3 years ago. All in all the District is starting to get some shape and form to it. I like some of the ideas (like a season tournament as a prep for all-stars), interest in clinics, and actually having a decent response for District tournaments. A tip of the cap to the boards, and efforts so far. Lets keep pushing to have a good District tournament - the more we focus on aligning our operations with the Little League "standards" the more the kids and families will benefit. I think you all have done a good job this year on building Little League up after COVID. Our numbers are up, and I like the interaction I am getting from some of the leagues. keep pressing for excellence. You do your players and families a great service if you focus on the program. District Tournament Draws

All, We are getting ready to do the draws for District Tournament (next week). So PLEASE send me the divisions (baseball and softball) your league will be sending to district tournament. The divisions are: Baseball Age Division 8-10 (Minors) 10-11 11-12 (Majors) 11-13 (Intermediate) 12-14 (Juniors) Softball 8-10 11-12 Please confirm ASAP (I do have the list from our Zoom call last week but I want to make sure we have everything correct before we build brackets). If you DO NOT confirm by next Wednesday (the 11th), I will assume the list provided on the Zoom call is correct. If you DO NOT submit teams either on the call or in writing, your league will NOT be represented. We will be making the draws on Thursday the 12th with the presidents (tournament directors) of the leagues that are hosting. We will send out the brackets and times the following week (week of the 16th). This should give your parents and volunteers plenty of notice. JP DA WA5/13

Memorial Day Tournament?

All Would anyone like to have a Memorial Day Weekend Tournament this year? It's kind of impromptu, but Othello is expressing an interest in hosting one in District 5, and a couple of folks in District 13 have tossed the idea out. It would be a short 2-3 day tournament - probably round robin format. Let me know by posting a response here. I am down for it! JP DA WA5/13
