All, We have many new board members from Pend Orielle Little League joining the league this year! We are excited to hear that at the District Level. Pend Orielle made a comeback last year after COVID, and with the new board we want to do as much as we can to help them have a great year. SO, if any leagues would like to schedule some games with them, or if Pend Orielle needs help with anything, lets pitch in to give advice, resources, and time to help build their league strong! We do have an umpire clinic coming up out at Medical Lake, and we are talking about doing a coaching clinic this year. also do we want to do a mid-season tournament? Lets discuss! HI ALL, Please update and upload your ASAP safety plans --- ASAP (LOL) - we need to get all the safety plans in by March 15! EVERY LEAGUE NEEDS TO DO ONE! - here are some helpful hints on how to do it faster. And some notes on the new Diamond Leader Program - REMEMBER ALL COACHES / MANAGERS PARTICIPATING IN REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS HAVE TO ATTEND DIAMOND LEADER TRAINING. IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO GET ALL YOUR COACHES/MANAGERS IN THE DIAMOND LEADER PROGRAM NOW.. See notes below JP DA WA5/13 Quick changes or league information for your league on the following pages: (this will only take 10 to 20 minutes) SAFETY PLANS ARE DUE BY April 1st. Feel free to have a earlier deadline for your district. Page 1: Add your league name and league ID Page 2: Add your league name and 2023 board of directors contact information Page 3: Add Emergency phone numbers, hospitals, and neighboring Quick Care Centers. Page 7: Add the league's training dates, times and location. Page 9: To answer a frequent question. League's that do not have a concession area still need to include requirement 9. Please leave it in. Page 11: Add League Safety Officer information Page 16: Requirement 14. League are required to submit player, manager, player data for final approval on all Safety Plans. Please upload your rosters by APRIL 1, 2023, is the deadline for roster uploads for districts and leagues to qualify for early submission. Page 16: Requirement 15 Little League will require leagues to answer survey questions during the upload process in the Data center. Now that you have the league's safety manual completed. (this will take 10-15 minutes) 1. Print out a copy to use as reference. 2. Go to the Leagues DATA Center. (League Safety Officers your league President should have sent you log on access) 3. Start the upload process. It will prompt you for page numbers and training dates. 4. Answer the two questions required in requirement 15. 5. Click on the league's facility survey (5 pages) review it, make any changes, save it, and submit! BAM you are done! REQUIREMENT 14: Safety plans are not fully approved until the player registration and rosters have been uploaded. This will be needed to complete the last requirement so please make sure your player agent uploads rosters. Please follow up with the league's player agent and verify that he/she is uploading player and volunteer registrations after every signed update. The due date is APRIL 1, 2023, or two weeks after your draft Background Checks: Please make sure the league's JDP account is set and ready to go. All of the leagues should have background checks on the board members done by now. Please follow up and make sure this has been done. Concussion Policy: Each state has one. Please check your states current concussion laws. CDC has free on line class that takes about 25 to 30 minutes. It is a state law. It is a requirement of all volunteers to do. All, Please see the info on the umpire clinic for this year. It’s being held jointly between District 5 and 13 in Medical Lake. There is NO COST for umpires to attend, however, this is for training of Little League umpires… (not High School, or individuals who want to go umpire other baseball programs – you have to be focused on Little League umpiring). IT’s that time of the year. We have an awesome umpire clinic planned for March 11. It will be a Medical Lake Middle School. Dennis Williams is coming over from the State to put on the clinic. Anyone who umpired last year or people starting this year should attend. He will be going of the new rules for this year and some mechanics. After that, I am willing to come to your league and go over more rules and emphasize mechanics. Please let me know what you would have available between then and beginning of league play. I would also be available to observe umpires during league to help improve their game. I would also like to start a district umpire list. Please send me any names of umpires you have for your league.
