Hi All, Please find attached the 2025 League Directory for District 13. It is missing some folks for the NEW North Spokane League. Also we are talking with folks from Kettle Falls, Chewelah, and Colville about joining for the 2025 season. If they do, then I will re-issue a new directory. Also I do not have all the names yet for the NSLL folks as they held their first official Board meeting yesterday and slots are still being sorted out as of when I left the meeting yesterday. District 13 LL Meeting Contest

Hi All, Our next District-wide meeting is this Saturday Oct 26 10:00 AM-3:00PM at 7919 N. Division in Spokane. Deer Park/Tri-County is hosting. We are putting out a contest, an incentive so to speak... to see how MANY BOARD MEMBERS WILL ATTEND! All presidents are requested to attend and ALL BOARD MEMBERS are invited (welcomed and encouraged even!) so they can get the low-down on what's coming up for 2025... big changes in Little League coming.... SO - we are having a contest to see which president can get the most board members to the meeting! The prize? A collector's set of Little League World Series Pins! Check it out in the attachment. League Reporting Requests for Meeting 10/26

Hi All, As part of our upcoming meeting on the 26th, 10:00 AM, Quality Inn 7919 N. Division in Spokane --- I would like the league representative for each league to be able to provide a report on their league operations for the past year. Some things that should be discussed by each league are: 1. General Review of League operations for last year * Number of divisions played (T-Ball thru whatever upper division you had), baseball/softball/Challengers etc * Number of board members * Revenues 2. Struggles, obstacles etc to better league operations 3. Needs for 2025 4. Goals for 2025 5. General Comments you may want to share with the group, "What's on your mind" This year's turnout is looking to be pretty good sized as several have said they are bringing more than one person from their board. We need to see all the Presidents an as many Board members there we can get! It's a big year for changes in Little League. New League in Spokane!

Hi All, I'd like to report that we FINALLY have a new league in Spokane - North Spokane Little League has a board finally forming. Mr. John Hentges will be the new President, and we have started their chartering process. They will be active for the 2025 season. We have NOT determined yet how many teams or divisions they will play, but John has committed to getting things off the ground. John WILL be at the Winter Meeting this weekend and I hope you all will be ready to get into conversations with him about supporting his efforts... We will announce the rest of the board shortly! Winter Meeting 2024 - This Weekend

Hi All, This weekend (Oct 26) at 10:00 AM we will be having our Annual Winter Meeting. This is a very important meeting for ALL LITTLE LEAGUE BOARD MEMBERS... we will be discussing next year's schedule, the boundary changes, state tournaments, districts, and more. Stacy will be calling to remind everyone about the meeting. The meeting will be held at Quality Inn Oakwood 7919 N Division St, Spokane, WA 99208. Ryan Wilson from Tri-County has graciously set up the meeting and is arranging snacks, beverages, and lunch. We hope to be finished by 3:00 or so. Upcoming Annual Meeting

All, We are slated for our District 13 Annual Meeting at the end of this month (October 26), on Saturday at 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM - Refreshments and Lunch will be provided. LOCATION TBD! ALL PRESIDENTS are required to attend, and ANY Board member that wishes to attend may. This year we will have some new twists. Each President will need to make a report/presentation to the GROUP on their league. This is to help all the leagues and boards in the District understand your league and board better, and find ways to help each other perform better as a league. This exercise is to foster better communication, cooperation, and understanding between the leagues. Please provide the following information in your report (if you want to put it in written form that's probably a good idea, but also make a verbal presentation to the group to help encourage discussion) : 1. League Divisions played last year, and League Divisions planned for this year 2. Number of Players in your league 3. League Finances (General overview of revenue and expenses, don't need to be too specific on expenses). Include items like registration fees, field costs, to give the group a general idea of what it takes to run your league. Also if you have funds left over at the end of the year. 4. Draft schedule and details 5. Options for Interleaguing (if you intend to play games with other leagues ) 6. What can be done to improve your league 7. What you think the District did to support you 8. Where you think the District failed your league 9. Your thoughts on mid-season tournaments 10. Training you, your board, or your coaches need. 11. Any major changes in your league 12. Any general comments you think ANY League president needs to hear, or the District Staff needs to hear We will be going over several NEW requirements by Little League AND some old ones that are going away. URGENT!!! State TOurnaments for 2025 - District 13

All, District 13 is slated to HOST the State 10-11 Baseball tournament in 2025 (July). In talking with the other District staff a suggestion was made to ASK early for any League that would like to host. Besides the great honor it is to host a state tournament it's also a lot of work. There are some unfair things to consider as well: 1. It's unfair to expect to go to send a team to state tournaments without being willing to host one yourself. You see each season we play district tournaments to select teams to go to state. However, someone else is hosting that tournament. As a District we should take our turn at hosting a State tournament. Then we are pulling our weight as part of Little League 2. It's unfair to have the same leagues hosting all the tournaments (District, State, etc). This puts the burden of doing tournaments on the same people each year. Each league should host a tournament in a cycle. So far since I have been DA Liberty Lake, West Plains, and Deer Park have hosted. That's cool... but with the advent of two tournaments this year (State and District), we need EVERYONE to consider hosting a tournament. Benefits of hosting the State tournament: 1. It is additional revenue for the league (they can charge for merch, concessions, RV parking, pictures, make money from contract food vendors, etc) 2. It is a great tool to use for PR for your league - the press likes state level tournaments 3. It helps the town your are in . 13 teams means at least 450 people show up just to play the games, not to mention family, friends, and other spectators. This makes an impact on the local economy and puts a focus on the town statewide. Some state tournaments draw about 5,000 people over the course of the tournament (Like state majors). This means hotels, restaurants, sporting goods stores, local attractions all benefit. 4. It gives a sense of pride to the hosting league and their players. 5. It helps your board and parents better understand the bigger picture of Little League So what does it take to put on a State tournament? Well first it takes participation of your whole Board. Next, lots of Volunteers. Three fields that meet Little League safety standards, and a desire to do something more. Mark can help round up umpires and the District staff is there to pitch in where needed. It's good for your league in that players get excited about either being in or being part of helping put on a state tournament. Most leagues experience a boost the following year in terms of new volunteers wanting to be part of the league and more players interested in playing in the league. Is it a ton of work? Yes no doubt. Are the rewards worth it? I think so. Do we need to be more supportive at the State level and take our turn at putting on tournaments when it's our "turn"... Absolutely... So please let me know your thoughts and if you would entertain putting on the State 10-11 for 2025... New Stuff, Board Elections and More

Hi All Well, the new Little League year is about to START! (yes it's that time!). Oct 1 is the start of the Little League International new year... Happy New Year! It is recommended that all local League Boards be elected and seated in September to start work for the new year. Some leagues even start their spring registrations as EARLY AS NOV 1! Can you imagine that? About the time we start hunkering down for winter, some leagues in the US are gearing up for spring!? At the District level we have a couple of new things in the works... * We are still working on a North Spokane League - check out our ad in the Exchange the next couple of weeks. We will also be supporting that with Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram messaging along with Google Ads to see if we can get it fired up this year. We have had many individuals come forth wanting to coach, but none want to do the hard work of running a League and being on a Board. Know anyone who lives in North Spokane and wants to help fire it up? Send them our way. * The Annual Winter Meeting is coming up at the end of October (last Saturday). ALL BOARD MEMBERS FROM ALL LEAGUES ARE INVITED. All Presidents must attend. We will publish the locations shortly. I'd like to move it around so that Stacy and West Plains LL are not the ones always doing the heavy lifting... * The District FINALLY has a new website... it's in it's "formative" stages still. We need LOTS of content. We'll be scraping your websites for content and information. BUT please send me the following info: * Contact information for the League President (if different than the Data Center) * Relevant calendar dates (board meetings, signups, try outs, any special games, training etc...
