All, Based on a question I got from one of the leagues about adjusting the charter counts and so forth. Western Region responded with the following: There's no need to reduce teams at this time. Little League International credited all chartered programs with the affiliation fees paid for their chartered teams in 2020. These funds were credited through Little League's Data Center based on the number of teams they have chartered for the 2020 season, and will be available for local leagues to use on current balances, future affiliation and insurance fees, tournament enrollment, and other Little League-related expenses. Leagues who have pending chartering fees on their account, but have not had paid those fees yet, will have those fees reduced for the 2020 season. It is important to note that these credited fees only apply to a league's per-team chartering fees, and not other fees associated with chartering, which include any insurance purchased through the AIG Insurance Program for Little League. Little League has worked with AIG, provider of insurance for Little League programs, provide insurance refund options for local leagues for the 2020 season. Little League International highly recommends that every local Little League program maintain their insurance coverage, even if no games or practices are being held, to prevent a lapse in coverage and protect against potential issues if the league decides to resume activities later this calendar year, including activities related to the 2021 season. Waiver: accepting players from cancelled LL

Hello Little League Board team, below is a step-by-step guide for leagues to use if they accept players from a neighboring Little League program, who has cancelled their season for 2020 only. Note: This is the only time, this waiver will be used. This waiver is not used for traditional out-of-boundary players. That process will remain the same. Waiver procedure: 1. League must submit a list of out of boundary players participating in their league to the District Administrator consisting of: a. Player information b. Player's name c. Player's League Age d. Name of the Player's home league (determined by player's residence or school enrollment) 2. DA to submit Formstack list of players a. Submission signifies approval and confirmation that home league has canceled all Little League activities for the remainder of the 2020 season. b. Little League Headquarters will process the waiver and notify the appropriate Regional Office. c. Regional Office will provide written confirmation of approval to the League President. 3. Local League must notify parents of players that approval is for 2020 season only. "This form is to be used by District Administrators to submit a list of players that a league has accepted due to their home league(s) cancelling their season. A separate submission must be completed for each league accepting out of boundary players. Please download and complete the player list template (Excel format) by clicking here. Complete and save this file prior to starting this form. It will be uploaded as a part of the form submission process. Update from Little League International - TOurnament

All, We have gotten word today from LLI that the World Series and the Regional Tournaments are cancelled due to the Corona Virus. They also asked us to make every effort to have a District or POSSIBLY state tournaments if allowed. Of course the requirement and guidance is to Follow the local health or state health guidelines. So – we are still in our same “local” holding pattern until we see what Governor Inslee says between now and May 4. Keep in your minds to try to play games this summer, don’t cancel anything just yet if you can help it. We are having another State DAs meeting in a few days to re-assess one more time. Hang in there and think “baseball” 😊 JP

Minutes from last night

All, Here are the minutes from last nights' DA meeting for the State. Some Districts in Washington have ALL leagues planning on playing a summer season sometime after May 11. However, some Districts cannot. I will canvas our District to see what everyone wants to do (yet again), and hope that you all can see a way to make some sort of season for the kids. The goal is to get about 10 games in. No decision on District, State, Western Region, or even the World Series as of yet. Essentially it boils down to this: 1. If the State Opens and lets kids play sports - then figure out how to do it 2. If the schools or cities will let you use the fields you normally use, then figure out how to do it 3. If you can work with your volunteers (parents, coaches, concessions etc) to make a season happen, then do it. If we can have a Districts at all is questionable. In all cases, follow the guidance of the local health officials, the state, and best practices. (Some leagues are planning on practicing as soon as the Governor opens the playgrounds) Let me know if you have questions. BTW when the minutes say "Per April" that means April Meehleder the Western Region Director for Little League International.. She attended last nights' meeting.
