While we know that all Little Leaguers® dream of playing in a World Series event, those dreams start at your local league with our District-level tournaments. Please review these resources for additional guidance. * Local leagues will be able to enroll their tournament teams starting Monday, May 10, and utilize the online Affidavit System through the Data Center starting Saturday, May 15, as in previous years. * The only divisions that will require the tournament entry fee of $200 are the Little League Baseball and Little League Softball. As always, this amount will be directed to a restricted fund to help offset tournament mileage reimbursement, as well as travel expenses for those teams who have the opportunity to compete at the World Series events. * The other divisions of tournament (8- to 10-Year-Old, 9- to 11-Year-Old, Intermediate Division Baseball, Junior League Baseball, Junior League Softball, Senior League Baseball, and Senior League Softball) that will be concluding at the state level will not be assessed with the tournament entry fee. As there is no tournament entry fee for these divisions of play, teams participating at these divisions are not eligible for tournament mileage reimbursement. * Leagues participating in the Little League International Tournament at all levels will have the support of the Regional offices and Little League International Tournament Committee for protests and tournament issues, as needed. * Please make sure to <http://click.email.littleleague.org/?qs=6ce667d3856be5bd5e4851182957a239a61…> review the updates to the tournament rules and regulations for this year. * Through the Data Center, please confirm your team information is up-to-date. * Be certain your balances, especially for your liability insurance should you be enrolled, are paid in full. If your league is currently active and conducting Little League games, practices, fundraisers, and/or other league activities, it is imperative that your league pay the outstanding insurance premiums to place the Liability Insurance that your league applied for in effect for your program. As tournament enrollment will open on May 10, this email is to notify you that your league may experience restrictions with tournament eligibility and be unable to enroll until the league’s insurance is paid and in effect. Leagues with an outstanding balance will be contacted via email on Friday, May 7. As always, our staff is here to support you throughout this tournament season. District 13 update

All, Hopefully you all have gotten your seasons kicked off by now and are in the midst of playing. I see some of you have not gotten your ASAP plans in, PLEASE get those done. ASAP (heheh). We are still planning on having a District Tournament this year, and West Plains has agreed to host it as of our last Video Conference. I'd like to see as many of you as possible with all-star teams in the tournament as it will help you with recruiting for next year. besides being selected and having the chance to play at the All-Star level is an honor and a treat for the players. The State Tournament is going to be held in Clarkston this year for the 12 year olds, they are excited about having it, and it looks like COVID won't stop it . fingers crossed. If Clarkston does roll back to a phase that prohibits tournament play, we may move the State Tournament across the river to Lewiston, although that's not an idea that's been fleshed out all the way. If you need anything please let us know. and Congratulations are in order for West Plains as they received a T-Mobile grant this year! Regards JP DA 5/13

COVID Restrictions easing up...Lets PLAY!

All, I have submitted press releases on your behalf to most of the major news outlets east of the Columbia in hopes that it will help your registration cycles. I would encourage you to have a very open policy towards late registrations. Contact your local radio, TV, and newspaper outlets to urge them to support Little League and get your programs advertised (for free) by running a story on LL Registrations being open. I have attached a copy of it for you to use should you have a better "in" with local news than I do. As most of you know by now, Youth Sports can have in-person attendance starting March 18 . March 22, the state goes to Phase 3 which helps youth sports in general. Time to fire up in the communities! Remember, by running your leagues and serving your community, you are helping kids immensely! Clarkston's Asotin County Little League has been select as the State 12 year old Tournament location. At least we get to keep it on this side of the state! Thanks to Craig and the whole board in Asotin County LL for stepping up and committing to this challenging tournament. They have GREAT fields down there and the town is open as is Lewiston. We will be sending out more details on this shortly. Hopefully some of you will commit to helping ACLL work the tournament this year. They need bookkeepers, umps, and general all around help. Thanks! JP DA WA5/13

On December 1, 2020, Sports Connect launched new features for the JDP Sports Connect Integration, including an easier view of the potential volunteer's application before accepting them as a volunteer. This new feature helps speed up the process for the league administrator who is overseeing the process. If your league has not yet started the background checks process for the 2021 season, now is a great time to start! All, According to the news this afternoon, we are moving to Phase 2 in eastern Washington!!!! This means those of you that have acceptable COVID plans in to your local health/school/city/federal authorities - CAN GET STARTED PLAYING AND PRACTICING!!! Finally ! Can I please get a status on the Leagues starting operations? I would like to get Press Releases to various news outlets as soon as possible.
