Good morning all. I wanted to take a second to reach out to request, to the best of your knowledge at this moment in time, how many teams each league is considering sending to the Distrcit 13 tournament. I did send this email yesterday to all league presidents, but, this email list will cast a bit broader net. If you and your league have already responded there is no need to re-respond! I have your numbers jotted down. So far I have heard back from: NSLL SSLL WPLL LLSVLL I appreciate what you can provide me now - and I promise I won't hold you to the numbers. I know that All-Star activities can't officially start until the middle of this month, so this is indeed a little premature. A Clarification on "Must PLay" and CBO.

Hi All, There have been a couple questions on CBO (Continuous Batting Order) and the Little League "must play" rule. So I asked for the official ruling from Little League from Western Region on the interpretation of Reg IV(i) Note 5. Some leagues have interpreted the rule (and it looks this way in the "book") that you don't have to give a player 6 defensive outs if you use CBO... that is not correct, even though the "book" appears to say differently. You DO have to give the player 6 defensive outs even if using CBO... And so here is the answer from Western.... Failure to abide by this mandatory play rule in a game means the player has to make up the innings in the very next game. There will also be notes on this in the District Tournament packet coming out in a couple of weeks as part of this clarification. <<<SNIP>>> J.P., Mandatory Play is applicable for all divisions of play below the Senior division and includes 6 defensive outs and inclusion in the continuous batting order. Art Mikelsen Grant

Greetings All, There has been a "restarting" of the Art Mikelson Grant from the Mariners. The attached letter explains how to apply for it. Background: up until 2019 the Mariners had provided a grant for Little Leagues in the State of Washington to do with as they needed to build their leagues and provide playing opportunities for baseball and softball players in our state. The Mariners for years have had a great relationship with Little League, partnering directly with leagues and Districts in the state. It got paused just befor COVID and is now being restarted.
